In June we were pleased to be able to welcome a team of staff volunteers from Locala, a local healthcare provider and not for profit organisation.
They joined us over 2, very sunny, days to help us spruce up our garden at the Whitfield Community Centre.
KVIN have had custody of the centre since June 2020 and due to Covid-19 have been able to only maintain the garden to a minimum level. It was in need of TLC and some hard graft to help bring it back to it’s former glory so that our members and users of the centre could enjoy the space.
With the hard work of the Locala volunteers the space is now looking fabulous with weeds covered by mulch, raised beds weeded and planted up, benches cleaned and re-stained and the greenhouse cleaned and tidied.
Robert the centre Caretaker says, ‘The Locala volunteers were a great bunch, they got on with the jobs and did a great job, true hard workers!’.
Many thanks to Locala for your help, we look forward to working with you more in the future!
