A feature designed especially for the visually impaired and that only works with Echo show devices has recently been introduced to the UK.
The Echo Show range of devices act like a regular smart speaker but also have a built in camera and small screen.
The feature is called ‘Show and Tell’ and is designed to help visually impaired people identify household groceries.
Pick up the item you want identifying and hold it approximately 30cm from your Echo Show and ask Alexa,
‘What am I holding?’ or ‘Alexa, what’s in my hand?’
She will then try to work out what you are holding and give you further directions if required like telling you to turn the product around.
You don’t need to do anything to enable this feature. This feature works automatically so give it a go and see what you think.
