KVIN launches new service: Sight Loss MOT

KVIN is pleased to annouce a new service called Sight Loss MOT to help us identify the services, support and training that will help people living with sight loss maintain their independence, wellbeing and choice.

The MOT focuses on the following areas:

  • Understanding your eye condition
  • Making the best use of your sight
  • Having someone to talk to
  • Your health and wellbeing
  • Managing at home Getting out and about
  • Your finances and planning for the future
  • Work, learning and having your say

The Sight Loss MOT has been developed by Devon in Sight, a charity who supports people with sight loss across Devon. They developed and designed the service with poeple with sight loss. KVIN have worked in partnership with Devon in Sight to adapted the MOT for the Kirklees area.

By taking part in the Sight Loss MOT we will work with you to ensure you can access the information and support you need to maximise your independence, wellbeing and choice. The service is suitable for anyone living in Kirklees who has sight loss or is registered paryially sighted or blind.

What happens?

  • If you would like to take part in the Sight Loss MOT please contact us.

  • We will then get back in touch with you to explain more about the process and match you with a trained volunteer who will complete the process with you.

  • The volunteer will go through each section of the MOT to identify where support may be needed and the best way this can be provided. It will take approximately an hour to complete the MOT.

  • We are all unique, and KVIN works closely with many partnership agencies to ensure that the services, support, information and advice we provide is bespoke and meaningful to you as individual.
