Sharing Information: Support to Recovery

Promoting Positive Mental Health

Support to Recovery (S2R) Create Space is an independent mental health charity, working across Kirklees, offering a range of wellbeing, creative and outdoor workshops.

Over the past few months we have been working alongside S2R who have been delivering some activities for us due to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund. We’ve been able to have an Aromatherapy Course and a series of Yoga sessions especially for our service users with visual impairments.

The sessions have been a great success and the trainers have adapted the activity so that it’s accessible and has been enjoyed by over 20 of our service users.

Here are some positive quotes;

I have found the aromatherapy course interesting. It has allowed me to learn about the benefits of various essential oils. It allows me to use my sense of smell fully and my house now smells amazing too!

I’ve been enjoying the weekly online yoga sessions very much. The instructor, Ellie, describes the movements and breathing techniques very clearly and the sessions are relaxing for both mind and body, but also involve lots of movement to help with joint flexibility, stamina and muscle strength.

We’ve really enjoyed working in partnership with S2R and look forward to working with them in the future, in the meantime we have a schedule of their activity available in accessible format to find out what else they are doing, you can book on anything you are interested in.
