Sight Loss Awareness Event
KVIN are supporting Simba’s Friends to run an event offering free visual impairment awareness training available for staff of local businesses.
Are you and your staff aware how best to support and advise visually impaired customers?
We are holding an open day ‘pop-up’ shop right in the heart of Huddersfield in the Packhorse Centre, offering advice and support on the needs of a visually impaired customer base.
Friday 1st November, 2019.
9am-4pm (Drop in anytime)
At the Pop-Up Shop inside the Packhorse Centre
Two million people in the UK are living with sight loss severe enough to impact on their daily lives.
Over seven thousand people in Kirklees are registered a partially sighted or blind.
Come along to;
- Try a blindfolded walk for that extra perspective.
- Speak directly with local visually impaired people to gain valuable feedback from personal experiences.
- Find out which simple changes can make your business more accessible to anyone living with sight loss.
- Improve your businesses credentials by working towards the KVIN Business Pledge (businesses signing up also benefit from free publicity via our social media channels).
Any local businesses are welcomed to attend such as cafes, shops, opticians, chemists and anyone interested in making sure their business is welcoming for people with sight loss.
Organised by Simba’s Friends supported by KVIN, two local sight loss charities.
