Stretching ourselves at Yoga

This year we have been lucky enough to be able to enjoy Yoga sessions, first through Zoom and later face to face.

It was due to a partnership with Support to Recovery who were able to fund the sessions and we had the pleasure of enjoying Yoga with Ellie from Umbrella Yoga.

The sessions were a great success, and we were really pleased to be able to meet Ellie in person when she could come to our group in Batley.

After doing my first session, it’s the best night’s sleep I’ve had in years!

I’ve been enjoying the weekly online yoga sessions with KVIN very much. The instructor, Ellie, describes the movements and breathing techniques very clearly and the sessions are relaxing for both mind and body, but also involve lots of movement to help with joint flexibility, stamina and muscle strength. I have done yoga before but feel that anyone starting it for the first time would benefit from the sessions and be able to follow along easily and feel able to ask for help.

I am finding the Yoga class extremely useful in using stretches, movement and exercise to overcome my broken arm injury.

Great to have an activity that involves people across such a big age range (30s – 89!)

I really enjoyed the yoga session on Wednesday. It was lovely to be able to do it as part of a Group. Found it a really relaxing and refreshing experience… Would love to be able to do it again in the future!

Ellie is a great yoga teacher she explains everything in detail and if anybody misunderstands she explains further great session really enjoyed it feels nice and calming and relaxing hoping she can come back at some point and do some more classes.

Ellie explains to everybody that you just move at your own pace and if there’s something you can’t do, no pressure, you do what your body feels right to do.

We are hoping to run some more Yoga sessions with Ellie in the future to help keep our members fit over the winter months.
