A year ago, the way in which KVIN operates was changed dramatically overnight. As an organisation, we wanted to mark the occasion by reminiscing and celebrating the remarkable way in which all of our service users, volunteers and staff members pulled together to deliver an entirely different way of working. We decided to join together virtually for a celebratory lunchtime chat!
Here is a screenshot of some of our service users, volunteers and staff members who met up via Zoom for a celebration lunch.
Here are some of the comments that were made about our online sessions:
“The Zoom sessions have been excellent through lockdown!”
“I’ve especially enjoyed the quiz nights, getting to talk with everyone and really having a great time!”
“I’ve found the Zoom chats very useful for information on shopping, etc and very helpful for mental health.”
“It was great to see all my friends. I learned a lot and I also had a great laugh with everybody too!”
“Through the use of Zoom and the telephone app, we’ve been able to extend and widen the range of our services. As a result, we have been able to engage and support more visually impaired people.”
Here is our special YouTube feature, where service users, volunteers and staff reflect on how they were able to harness the technology that they are so passionate about to help them keep connected during the national lockdown.
